What is a heat pump?
A heat pump is a device that can offer cooling and heating for residential and commercial structures. Like refrigerators, heat pumps transfer heat from a cool space to a warm room, making them cooler and warmer. We install heat pumps for customers needs like heating/cooling, swimming pool heaters, and water heater systems. Four different types of Heat Pumps:
Ducted Air-Source
Ductless Air-Source (Mini Split Units)
Geothermal
Absorption (AHP)
What do heat pumps work with
A heat pump can be connected to any heating source, such as a gas or electric furnace. It can also work with a boiler, using water to create steam. That steam then drives a heat pump's refrigerant.
How do heat pumps work?
Like refrigerators and air conditioners, a heat pump extracts heat from the cooler outdoors into your warm house during the heating season. The refrigerant in a heat pump condenses into a gas when it's cooled below a certain point. The gas then powers a fan that pushes air through your ducts.
